A little bit about us
Karen Gorry Karen has spent over 12 years working both in the community and in schools. She is a qualified Advice and Guidance Practitioner, and has extensive experience of supporting and advising both young people and adults. Karen’s past experience has included a senior role within the Local Authority helping long term unemployed adults back to work. She has also worked as an advisor with young people in schools and work based learning. Karen has in-depth knowledge and skills in working with hardest to help groups, and has a special interest in supporting people to overcome social barriers to employment and training.
Pat Johnson Pat has worked as a qualified Careers Practitioner both in the private and public sector for the past 10 years. She has extensive experience of working with young people and adults in schools and colleges. As a lead practitioner, Pat has planned and managed transition programmes for post 16 students. She also has considerable experience in preparing students for Higher Education and Apprenticeship programmes.
Claire Sherman A qualified secondary school teacher, Claire has extensive experience of delivering across the age and ability range.As a Careers Guidance Practitioner for the last 5 years, Claire has worked in schools offering both pastoral and educational support to pupils. She has also worked with young people not in education, employment or training, including teenage parents-to-be and young parents, to enable them to engage with post 16 education.As a volunteer in the Diocese of Liverpool, Claire regularly speaks in public and facilitates activities for adults.
